About the role:

Pompa Program is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. This role will involve developing, maintaining, and optimizing our website to deliver a seamless experience to our users. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in WordPress development and have a strong commitment to maintaining high code quality, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Website: Build and customize responsive WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins.
  • Maintain High Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
  • Implement SEO Best Practices: Ensure all websites are fully optimized for search engines by implementing SEO best practices.
  • Cross-Browser and Cross-Device Testing: Conduct thorough testing to ensure compatibility across multiple browsers and devices.
  • Optimize Website Performance: Analyze, monitor, and improve website speed, performance, and overall user experience.
  • Develop Custom WordPress Code: Write and modify WordPress themes and plugins to fit unique business requirements.
  • Back-End Services & Database Configuration: Manage and configure databases, server environments, and back-end services.
  • Maintain WordPress Core & Plugins: Regularly update WordPress core software and plugins, ensuring stability and security.
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix website issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest WordPress developments, trends, and updates.
  • Technical Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
  • Maintain Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of code, systems, and processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a portfolio of WordPress projects.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and how to implement them in WordPress.
  • Experience in developing custom themes, templates, and plugins.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap.
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with web hosting environments and back-end server management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will be interviewed, assessed, and expected to perform the following based on the job scorecard below:

  • 99.95% Uptime Across All Wordpress Websites

Site Performance and Optimization:

  • Result: Achieve and maintain an average site load time of under 2 seconds for all client websites, with a minimum of 95% of sites passing Google PageSpeed Insights or similar performance tools.
  • Measurement: Monitor website performance metrics using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or Pingdom, and track improvements through regular performance audits.

Project Delivery and Timeliness:

  • Result: Successfully deliver at least 90% of assigned WordPress projects on time and within budget over a 12-month period.
  • Measurement: Track project timelines, budget adherence, and completion rates through project management tools and client feedback.

User Satisfaction and Engagement:

  • Result: Attain a client satisfaction score of at least 4.5 out of 5 in post-project surveys, and ensure a minimum of 20% increase in user engagement metrics (such as average session duration or page views per session) for newly launched or revamped sites.
  • Measurement: Gather client feedback through surveys or reviews, and analyze user engagement data through Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms.




Compensation Range: $50-$65k
